Woodberry Down Regeneration programme
16 August 2007 by daN4cat
Drawing on yesterday’s news related to fears over estate regeneration programme, I thought it was worth giving a pointer to the programme page in Hackney Homes web site.

Woodberry Down estates are the buildings along Seven Sisters Road starting from Manor House tube station.
The regeneration programme will take 15-20 years to complete and it’s the biggest in London outside the Olympic games programme. There are something like 2000 homes in poor conditions and a lot of safety and security problems.
It took a long time to plan and make all the stakeholders agree upon, but finally the works started.
The aim is to turn around the situation and rebuild the area in something really better.

The Vision:
Towards a total living environment where people want to live and work.
Woodberry Down should be an inclusive, sustainable community based on both respect for
cultural, social and economic diversity, where individuals acknowledge their responsibilities to the wider community and their commitment to a safe and healthy neighbourhood
