The Istanbul Limelight Festival will be adding Turkish Delight to London’s burgeoning music festival calendar. This new annual one-day event will host contemporary Turkish artists representing diverse musical styles, from rap to rock, and bellydancing pop. With the genre busting music masters Mazhar-Fuat-Özkan (MFO) headlining the festival, it’s likely to be a sell-out.

The festival takes place in Finsbury Park, where Istanbul Limelight artists will join the list of legends that have performed previously including Oasis, Pulp, Crowded House, Madness, New Order and even the Sex Pistols. Located along Green Lanes – the traditional home of ‘Turks’ – this ground-breaking event will not only provide a bridge between London’s Turkish speaking community and fellow residents, but also the culturally rich and diverse cities of London and Istanbul.

Promising to be one of 2007’s most colourful events, the family-friendly festival will contain three music arenas, chill-out zone complete with resident fortune teller, a kiddies area, Turkish bazaar, food, drinks and much more…

Main stage: MFO (Turkey’s Beatles), Ceza (rap), Eylem (pop, dance), Murat Boz (R&B pop), Nez (pop), Oojami (global fusion), Yuksek Sadakat (rock), supported by BBC’s DJ Ritu, Bizim DJ Ceyhan and DJ Cemi.

Istanbul-London Express arena: a space for club lovers, Istanbul’s leading DJs Ozan Samiloglu (Reina), Volkann (Dinamo FM) and Evren Cholack join local spinners Kat (MTV Bass/Choice FM), Ramsey and Fen, Artful Dodger, Elliot Patterson, Cutting Edge and many more under the watchful eye of host Mr Edski.

Hubble Bubble Soundsystem arena: Necmi Cavli and guests bring their Middle Eastern party vibes to Finsbury Park
