Stroud Green Reading Group

Dear Members,

Why not come along and join our reading group which meets monthly in Stroud Green Library.

Stroud Green Book Group.

December and January meetings.

The next Reading Group meetings will be on

Thursday December 6th, 7.30 pm

Ma Jian, “Stick out your tongue

Since the December meeting is soon, and time is short, I’ve selected some short stories by the Chinese writer Ma Jian. It’s 90 pages only, and in big print!

I’ve also got in some copies of John Uptake’s short story compilation “The women who got away” Again, it’s short, 106 pages, but it comes with a warning- they’re bleak stories of affairs, lost love and sexual encounters.

Thursday January 10th 2008, 7.30pm

Isabel Aliened. Portrait in Sepia.

I was hoping to get copies of the Booker prize winner “The Gathering” by Anne Aright. But money’s tight and we’ll have to wait until the affordable paperback appears. However, we do have copies of Portrait in Sepia….

As always, the number of copies we have is limited, so it’s on a first come first served basis- please phone to have a copy put aside for you.

Regards,

Don Holtum
